VERSATILITY TO MEET YOUR NEEDS

PALLET RECYCLER, SUPPLIER, AND WHOLESALE MULCH PRODUCER

TCP is one of the largest pallet recycling companies in Ohio.

The family-owned and operated business was founded as Tri County Pallet in Akron, Ohio, in 2002 by the Bowling brothers, who brought 20 years of prior experience when they launched the business. In December 2020, the company was re-branded by the family as TCP.

With a mission to reduce the number of scrap pallets going to landfills, the Bowlings developed a network of businesses from which they would buy pallets, repair them as necessary and re-sell them to other users. Over time, as pallet recycling demand and the volume of pallets they managed grew, they found a need for disposal of pallets that could no longer be repaired and other scrap wood that customers desired to offload.

In 2005, the company created a division to turn clean scrap wood and pallets into mulch for sale to residential and commercial landscapers.

A History of Growth

The company continued to grow over time, adding capabilities to heat treat pallets for international shipping and to build custom pallets; added a fleet of trailers that could be permanently located at its customers’ plants for pallet collection; and developed a pallet jockey program, to better serve the pickup needs of businesses generating small quantities of used pallets.

With a 75,000-sq.-ft. headquarters facility in Akron sitting on a roomy 13 acres that provides plenty of indoor and outdoor pallet storage space, the company now processes more than 120,000 pallets per month.

In 2016, the company added a 20,000-sq.-ft. location, in Cleveland, Ohio, to provide a more centralized drop-off facility for pallet jockeys serving the Cleveland area.

Launched with a handful of workers in 2002, the company now boasts more than 80 employees, maintains a fleet of 200 flat-bed and box trailers and 10 trucks.

The company serves a wide array of businesses in Northeast Ohio, western Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.
