Protecting your pallets in the winter
There are some things we may overlook when the winter season is upon us. This could be the fact that your pallets may get damaged due to the change in weather, and any snow or sleet that may occur. These are some issues that may arise, but can be prevented with caution.
Frost
When the idea of winter weather comes up, majority of us are thinking snow, ice, sleet, etc. But, the one winter occurrence that some may overlook, is frost. This may cause pallets to stick together and become adhered to each other, if you try to attempt to pull them apart, they may get damaged.
Snow and Ice
Snow and ice go hand-in-hand when winter weather is brought up, for good reason. While snow is nice to look at, there are many ways it could damage your pallets if you do not act fast enough. Pallets getting piled on by snow may cause damage, and the snow may turn into ice, making trying to retrieve the pallets a safety hazard. You don’t want your pallets to get damaged, but you also don’t want to hurt yourself either.
Prevention
Always take your pallets inside once you realize that the weather is getting to the freezing point. This is a good way to make sure that nothing happens to your pallets, and may prevent potential damage.
If your pallets ever experience any of the above, make sure that they are dried and are ready to be put back out again and survive.
